Welcome to the mom hour. Hi everyone and welcome to episode 379 of the mom

hour. I am Megan Frances here with Sarah Powers. Hey Sarah. Hey Megan how are

you? Oh just clocking along. I mean yeah I guess well in case it wasn't clear

we have had this idea kind of rattling around where we want to talk about

motherhood through the lens of having been the caretakers of like what would you

say fertile and gestating chickens and cats and lactating? Yeah. There's been a

lot of a lot of observational animal motherhood happening in our homes and

if you don't know what we're talking about we'll give a like a quick recap but

we found ourselves having conversations just personally in Voxer the way we do

about chickens and kittens and we just thought it'd be fun to expand on that

a little and it's so hard not to apply our own preconceptions about motherhood

and raising kids to animal life when we see it playing out in front of us and

then that even even that observation opened up like a whole can of worms like

is that even correct? Right I mean we had multiple conversations about

kitten attachment parenting and kitten extended breastfeeding versus mother

led weaning or human led cat mother led weaning and I mean I also am now

collecting eggs daily and feeling a little guilty about collecting eggs from
