this past weekend. I didn't get to see all of it, but I watched some of it. So I want to talk

a little bit about that. We had a interesting discussion about slabbed cards and magic,

not on the podcast, just offcast, but we wanted to bring that up on the podcast because I'm a little

confused about what's going on with slab cards and magic. There's some Hasbro news talking about the future of commander in digital form. There's a new secret layer commander deck. And then we might check in on standard, maybe modern a little bit, see what's going on there. So that's the overview for today. And then, of course, some fish mail at the end of the cast. let's start with eternal weekend so uh eternal weekend the biggest eternal weekend i guess of the

year the biggest legacy and vintage tournament of the, of the, I know I nailed it.

Brilliant analysis on MTV Goldfish podcast, but it's the biggest legacy in vintage weekend of the year.

So all the legacy and vintage players come together. They do this big tournament. So that was going on this weekend.

I didn't get to watch all of it because I was kind of busy, but I got to catch the top eight of Legacy. And it was very, very interesting. So as a

modern player, a lot has been made of the impact of Modern Horizons 3 and past Modern

Horizons that's on Modern. I haven't played a ton of Legacy recently. So I turned on this tournament, and I was kind of surprised to see just how much Modern

Horizons 3 had really shaken up legacy.

So the finals ended up being a Mystic Forge artifact deck versus a what they called Nadiwelves.

I don't know why they called it elves. It was just a straight out of a Nadiou deck that had like Allisaurus rider and a leopold in it. So there were like three elves in the deck. So it was Nadi versus Mystic Forge. And this is how well, Richard. I was ready for some good, grindy, fair magic. So they sit down to first game of the finals. The Mystic Forge player is on the play. And Reed Duke's doing commentary. And he's like, oh no, the NADU player, they got the turn two win in hand, the very rare turn two win draw. The Mystic Forge player, whatever, just combos off wins on turn two before the Nodoo player even gets to turn two to win. Game two, Ndoo player on the play, drops a collector roof on turn two before the Nadu player even gets to turn two to win.
