I started this whole journey by going to a Flat Earth Convention.

There were 650 Flat Earthers there.

I went there to learn how to talk to science deniers and I wanted to start with the most

elemental ones I could find because I thought if I could talk to them, then I could

talk to climate deniers.

Who are the ones I'm really worried about?

Then I could talk to anti-vaxxers.

In researching his new book, Old How to Talk to a Science Denier, he began with a deep

dive into the alternative reality of people convinced against all the evidence that the

Earth is flat.

Somebody learned their taught them valuable lessons about how and how not to talk with people

who persist in denying science.

This is going to be really interesting because you study one of the most important questions

of our time.

Maybe the most important question, the very thing that's going to help us survive as a nation

and as a species.

I'm speaking of science is threatened by people who deny science and deny facts having

to do with things other than science.

How long have you been working on this?

Over 15 years I think.
