Here in Bristol, Connecticut, at Hillside Community Church, where I attend, we are participating in Operation Christmas Child.

And our little church has a goal of collecting 200 shoe boxes to send to

children in remote areas who are not going to have the normal Christmas that you and I might have

or be able to give to our children. And that's why we believe in Operation Christmas Child. And we're so

glad to have them as partners

here with us on Sports Spectrum.

Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 188 million gift-filled

shoe boxes to children in more than 170 countries and territories. And this year, we hope to collect enough shoeboxes to children in more than 170 countries and territories. And this year, we hope to

collect enough shoeboxes to reach another 10 million children. Man, think about this. The mission

of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way to children in need

around the world and to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

Now, November 15th through the 22nd is National Collection Week on these shoeboxes.

They'll be collected across the country at nearly 5,000 drop-off locations.
