I've been thinking a lot about flying. I've been thinking a lot about you and all of the interactions that I have on a day-to-day basis.

0:55.5	I want to tell you a little story about what happened the other day. So when I go to fly a trip,
1:04.2	one of the first things I do is I check in with the gate agent to see what's going on in the flight, how many passengers we have,
1:14.7	if we have people that are going to be riding on the jump seat, and just the basic
1:19.3	overarching details of the flight. And that helps me get a little bit of an understanding
1:26.0	about what we're going to have.
1:29.2	If we don't have many people on the flight, it means we're going to board pretty quick. So I better
1:32.9	get a move on. If we have a very full flight, we might have jumpseaters that are looking for a
1:38.2	ride somewhere. So I need to make sure that they get on the plane and there's various other things
1:42.6	that I think about and I look for.
1:45.1	And then one of the last things I do is I pick up the microphone and make an announcement to
1:51.3	the customers at the gate. And I welcome them to the flight. I introduce myself. I introduce
1:57.9	my first officer and tell them how cool my flight attendants are. And it's just a little
2:04.7	intro, a little break the ice so that they feel a little bit at ease. And also one of the things
2:12.0	I talk about is for them to remember the word of the day, which is always grace, because I have so many passengers
2:21.8	that I want them to remember that there's only four flight attendants and two gate agents.
