Good evening, Alex.

I got a personal report from Maui today from my nephew, Kevin O'Donnell, Jr., who has

been fighting the fire out there, and he reported that they've faced some challenges they've

never seen before when the power went out.

That meant that some of the hydrants lost the electrical powered pumps that would pump

from the hydrants.

So the hydrants that they would rely on to fight the fire couldn't deliver the water

when they needed it.

The challenges were just stunning and kept surprising people as this fight went on.

Well, I mean, our thoughts are going out to everybody who's affected by this, and of

course, the people in the front lines.

That's an extraordinary story, Laurence.

I hope, you know, I hope we get to put a closure to this chapter relatively soon.

Alex, tonight is United States Senate night here at the last word, Senator Sheldon White

House is going to join us talking about Clarence Thomas, which he has always told us that
