It's an episode of To See Each Other, a show that complicates the narrative about small-town

Americans in the most misunderstood and often abandoned communities. This season hosts George Gale travels to Lincoln County,

Wisconsin to follow a small town battle for the last remaining public nursing home in the community.

George goes deep into questions of aging in America, public versus private long-term care,

and the nuts and bolts of good old-fashioned organizing.

I'm honored that the folks of To See Each Other specifically requested that the dating while grade community hear the first episode of their new season.

To see each other is a show that expands a concept of older people and our ability to keep

I'm George Gale.

I'm a longtime community organizer and lifelong midwesterner.

And in this season of to see each other, we're heading to one of my favorite places,

Wisconsin, to get to know a group of small town senior citizens fighting for the dignity of the elderly and a better future for us all.

So I'm a Midwestern guy through and through.

Grew up in Southern Indiana and started organizing there before moving to Chicago in my 20s.

But Wisconsin has grown to hold a big chunk of my heart.

Wisconsin's a land of natural beauty. You've got big, tall pines, great lakes, and open skies,

and you've got some human beauty too. Beer, brats, and cheese. My whole family's come to love Wisconsin, especially the supper clubs.

A Wisconsin tradition, supper clubs were originally taverns and dance halls.
