0:00.0	On February 18th 2010, Joseph Stack climbed aboard his Piper Dakota, a single propeller fixed landing gear airplane and took off from the Georgetown Municipal Airport near Austin, Texas.
0:13.0	Joe had gotten his pilot's license six years earlier
0:16.0	and had made many trips in either one of the two aircraft he owned,
0:20.0	taking friends and family along on many occasions.
0:23.4	This trip was different though because where Joseph was going he didn't plan on coming back from.

Andrew Joseph Stack, who went by Joe, was born on August 31st in 1956 and grew up in Pennsylvania with two brothers and a sister. in his brothers were reunited at the Milton Hershey School, an institution for orphaned boys that was founded by the chocolate tycoon.
1:20.0	While there, Joe didn't have to get up early in milk cows like the other boys because he was in the Glee Club and lived in one of the musical homes.
1:28.0	In 1974, he left the school with a suitcase of new clothes, $100 in cash, and enrolled in Harrisburg Area
1:36.8	Community College with the assistance of the Hershey School.
1:40.5	He studied engineering, but didn't graduate from college and instead moved to California in the early 80s to follow the growing computer engineering boom.
1:49.0	It's not clear whether he married a woman named Ginger before or after the move.
1:53.7	But they incorporated their company, Prowis Engineering Inc. in 1985 with Joe the CEO and
2:00.2	Ginger the secretarian Code Director.
2:03.2	After becoming a business owner, Joseph began having an issue with the IRS.
2:08.3	He had been introduced to a group of people who were having tax code readings and discussions.
2:13.7	California at the time was full of people that believed the tax code was unconstitutional.
2:19.2	The way they fought against the IRS was to partner with the Universal Life Church, you know, the people that will ordain anybody
2:26.1	to be a pastor, and to start their own denomination.
2:30.0	Then they could list their home address as a church and be tax exempt.
2:34.4	Joseph wrote in his manifesto before he died, quote,
