So speaking about 10 years ago, there was a little company called Google got started, and

we all know that story, but there's actually two Larry's that matter at Google.

There's Larry Page, and there's a guy named Larry Brilliant, which I sure wish I was his son,

because I could be called Tom Brilliant.

That would just be unbelievable.

Can you adopt me? Maybe is it too late? Everybody online as well as here has the flyer and has his bio.

If I told you his bio and tried to do a proper intro, I would be up here for half an hour. We only have an hour with Larry Brilliant.

So I would rather just get at it, but he is the executive director of Google.org, as you know. And I don't know about you

today, but the news this week has not exactly been fun to read or see with everything going

on in Asia, with cyclones and earthquakes and so on. So today, I got to tell you, I was pretty anxious and frankly depressed.

When I was reminded that I was getting a chance to come and see this, and when you look at

what Google Orrug is trying to do, and when we hear this and also get to know this human

being and all the things that he's done since he was the college age of the folks

in the room, it's pretty inspirational. So it's a perfect timing to have Larry come to campus

and be online with us. So let's welcome Larry Brilliant from Google.org.

Thank you, Larry. I don't know if this is the way these things are supposed to work, but I really feel, I'm not sure if I'm giving a talk or getting an EKG.
