Tonight we're joined by the founder of K9 Partners for Patriots.

Mary Peter, Mary, welcome to the show. Tell us about your organization, K9 Partners for Patriots, and exactly what it is you guys do. You may or may not know this about me, Mary. I am a crazy dog lady, and I love everything about dogs. I love people who do things for dogs. And I also love patriots and all of our veterans. So give me,

give it to me what you guys do. I feel like I'm going to love everything. Well, you're my soul

sister already. I can tell you that. Pannon Partners for Patriots, I founded it to prevent veteran

suicide. We have too much veteran suicide.

And there's veterans out there that just needed a second chance to get their life back.

And we work with veterans with PTSD and traumatic brain injury and military sexual trauma.

And my goal was if I could bring them in, we offer a dog training, a service dog training program.

We provide, I rescue dogs because I want to save two.

I want to take that dog that somebody threw away and didn't think was any good and give that dog a life again as well.

So we match those dogs with a veteran that needs a service dog

to mitigate their disabilities. And the match is incredible because they both feel like they've

rescued each other. So they come for a six-month training program and they do all the training.

So we give them a mission. give them a job so they're not

as hypervigilant they're not checking their doors and their windows and checking their perimeter

and outside at two in the morning so the veterans do the training yes oh wow that's incredible

well and by the way can i just say i love what you said about you want to save two.

You want to save two lives.

Actually, Mary, I would argue you're saving three.
