I want to see New York come back. I think we all want to see New York come back. None of this stuff is going to get it. You're going to have to get someone who means business, who is a capitalist to come in there, who actually does the work and understands how to bring the city back. The voters are not into it right now. I hate to say it. It might

have to get even worse, frankly. I mean, sometimes you actually really have to hit rock bottom,

whether you're addicted, God forbid, to a drug in your personal life, in a political sense.

Sometimes you really have to hit rock bottom or to kind of look in the mirror and say,

what the heck am I doing here, and then take stock of things and ultimately turn things around.

And kind of a broader collective sense, perhaps that's what the people of New York City have to do.

They're definitely getting it good and hard.

You know, another layer to this story, which is fascinating, is that

now Don has actually been in something of a recurring standoff for the past few months with Kathy Hokel when it comes to some actual legislative budget details in Albany. A lot of Albany Democrats are not particularly happy with Mamdani. He's been calling for various forms of tax increases. He can do a decent amount when it comes to his mayoral perk, but there's a lot that he needs to get from the governor and or the legislature there. And they're not really having it, actually. So he's alienating

a lot of people in the state capital, maybe slightly less so on the city council thus far. That
