Some sounds just make us feel joy. A favorite song, a beep of the

coffee maker when it's finished brewing, and then there's... For duolingo users, that's the sound of the

app telling you that you're a multilingual genius. Or at least that you answered correctly when it

asked you the French word for airplane or the Spanish word for cow, vodka, right?

Duolingo is one of the most popular language apps with more than 500 million registered users.

Now the company has decided to change the subject and branch out with a launch of Duolingo math last month. The app is still in

its beta version and there's a wait list for Apple device users to test it out. The Android version

is still in development. Why move into math? Duolingo software engineer Samantha Siegel says that
