to the studio cat. I guess he's taken off here right at the start of the show. But got a lot of stuff I want to get into today. Happy Saturday. I want to talk a little bit about the injury front. We did get an update there. Not a good one either for the Lakers, but a little bit of a silver lining right now for LA.A. We'll talk a little bit about that. And I want to focus mostly on the trade front, not just what does it look like around the NBA, but what does it look like for the Lakers? Who are some players that they could potentially target as well? I went through the league, took a look at some different rosters, seeing what the Lakers can potentially try to accomplish.

We did get a little bit of news yesterday. Austin Reeves, unfortunately, going to be re-evaluated in a week for a calf strain.

Certainly not the ideal situation for the Lakers.

Now going to be missing Austin, who has been a critical piece for them.

He has number three in the NBA right now in minutes per game behind Luca Dantich and Tyrese Maxi.

So Luca and Austin both logging very heavy minutes so far

this season for the Los Angeles Lakers. And now you're going to be missing Austin Reeves.

Re-evaluated in a week doesn't mean he's back in a week, but I did say there's a silver lining.

This is the very light portion of the Lakers schedule. And so what that's going to allow them to do is get Austin Reeves

a little bit of rest. I did say that he's logged a lot of minutes so far. JJ Redick over the last

week or so has made a number of comments about Austin being a bit worn down. He hasn't quite

looked like himself over the past couple of games. I can't say it's all simply because he's been

tired. I think he's dealt with some athletic defenses. He's had some struggles with those. Certainly that's part of the issue. But is he a little bit worn out? Yeah, Austin had to do a lot of heavy lifting when Luca was out, when LeBron was out and put up some huge performances, had to carry this team quite a bit. Again, the silver lining, though, the Lakers play

on Sunday and then don't play again until Thursday. And this is because we're in that NBA

Cup schedule here that the NBA has. They're focusing on the NBA Cup tournament. Of course,

the Lakers got bounced out of it in Wednesday's loss to the San Antonio Spurs. But they play

tomorrow against Phoenix and then don't play again until Thursday.

That means that Austin, if when he gets re-evaluated in a week, let's say it's Friday the 19th,

Austin gets re-evaluated.
