Happy Monday. Hopefully you guys all enjoyed the Super Bowl yesterday. It was a lot of fun. Went all the way into overtime. Then Patrick Mahomes doing Patrick Mahomes things right at the end. Congrats to my guy Mark Guttles.

His team got the job done.

We've got a lot to talk about in the world of the Lakers, though.

Spencer Dinwiddie, let's start there.

Spencer Dinwiddie, his debut, sounds like it's going to be tomorrow against the Detroit Pistons. It was nice. The

Lakers had this break. We have three days in a row. No games for the Lakers. Then they play back to

back and then head into the All-Star break. If I had my preference, we'd have the Lakers playing

tonight against the Pistons, Wednesday against the Jazz, then go to the All-Star break. So you're

not playing second night of a back-to-back against the jazz team that frankly, you really need to beat in terms of the standings. We're going to take a look at the standings in just a moment. But nonetheless, Spencer Dinwiddie, by getting these three days in a row off, he's going to make his Lakers debut tomorrow against the Detroit Pistons. I'm excited for that. I think that Dinwoodie's going to be a

solid fit for this team. I think he's going to fit right into that old Dennis Schrooter rule from last

season, be the third guard in the rotation. And I'm hoping fingers crossed that those shooting

percentages improve compared to what we saw over the course of the season with the Brooklyn Nets.

They were bad. Let's face it, they were bad, but I do think Dinwood, he gives you another guy who can attack the basket, who can draw the defense, and that's going to be a good thing for this Lakers team. And you know what, you can't complain. You got the guy for nothing, essentially, right? Just a roster spot. Sure, there's opportunity cost there, but he's on a minimum deal, well, $1.5 million deal for the remainder of the season. It's hard to really be too upset about that.

Speaking of which, though, a bizarre detail emerged in his contract, Bobby Marks of ESPN mentioned this. He actually does have a bonus in his contract. That's right. He has got a contract bonus that's,

you know, this may wind up cost of the Lakers a little bit of money here. So Spencer Dinwiddie

in his contract, it stipulates with the Lakers that should the Lakers win an NBA championship

this year, then the Lakers that should the Lakers win an NBA championship this year, then the Lakers

have to fork over a dollar to Spencer Dinwiddie.

I don't know if he's just a big trading places fan or fan or what, but apparently the Lakers

owe Spencer, Dinwiddie, a dollar if they win the NBA championship.

Dinwiddie is known for kind of doing some funny stuff with his contract.
