The Lakers used up a lot of energy to scrape out an overtime win Monday in Game 4 against the Grizzlies. It was worth it, as the purple and gold went up 3-1, and radically changed the stakes for Wednesday's Game 5. Good thing, too, because the Grizzlies were the better team from the jump, with much more spring in their step and while Memphis didn't exactly shoot the lights out, they were significantly better from 3-point range than L.A., and it was enough to fuel the win. One big thing in the favor of the Grizz? LeBron James was clearly tired. Like, dog tired. 5-17 from the floor tired. 1-9 from 3-point range tired. How he bounces back will be a key theme for Game 6, Friday at the Crypt. The Lakers will also need to hit an outside shot. For the third game in a row, they were under 30% from downtown. That can't continue. Memphis wasn't hot, but did get 30+ each from Desmond Bane and Ja Morant. That was too much for the Lakers to overcome. Thought don't blame Anthony Davis. He was everything the Lakers needed on both sides of the ball, a nice bounce back from what has been a very difficult series offensively. They'll need more of the same on Friday, and hopefully Davis can bring a few more teammates along this time.
