He was young, very rich, and not exactly a stellar student.

Yet Jared Kushner got into Harvard nonetheless.

How exactly did he do it?

With more than a little help from Daddy, more in fact than most of us ever knew.

As recounted in Kushner Inc. a new book by Huffpost Editor at Large Ficky Ward, Charles

Kushner, Jared Kushner's wealthy real estate developer father, pledged 2.5 million to

Harvard.

More than that, he called up then New Jersey Senator Frank Loutenberg to whose campaigns,

Kushner's companies, had donated more than $200,000 and recruited him to lend a hand.

Loutenberg then got his colleague, Senator Ted Kennedy, to call up Harvard's Dean of

Admissions.

When Jared got his acceptance, his teachers and fellow students at his Tony Private School

were dumb struck.

One of them broke down in tears.

Kushner had been a track three student, and acceptance at Harvard was unheard of for

someone with that track record.

His GPA did not warrant it, his SAT scores did not warrant it, one school official said.

In the wake of the massive college bribery scandal just revealed by federal authorities,

Kushner's acceptance at Harvard stands out, as a prime example of what wealth and privilege

can buy.

And living the privileged life has been a hallmark of Kushner's life.
