Get what I think is a season saving victory tonight at Mississippi State 71 to 68.

Cal still has not lost to Mississippi State on the road since he's been the coach at

Kentucky a pretty amazing run when you think about it.

Cal owns Starkville and he did again today as Kentucky gets a huge, huge win.

We're going to open up the phones here in just a little bit, but some thoughts on the game.

First of all, overall, I am very positive about this game.

You had to win it. Mississippi State 1-5 in a row.

They play going into the game probably the best defense in the league.

Well, second to Tennessee, but probably the best, you know, second to Tennessee, best defense in the league.

And you're without one of your two shooters and another guard.

And basically, you had to play five guys the entire second half and you win.

And so I think I had the view going in the game.

I said this on the pre game show is a just win situation.

Like it doesn't matter to me how they win.

It doesn't matter to me what happened to get there.

You just have to win this game and you did and they did it.

They were really gritty and tough.

If you listen to the pre game show, I said, this is going to be the game that decides for me,

whether or not these dudes have checked out.

And I think it's very clear that they had not at one point.

They got down three early in the second half.
