Summary

It takes all sorts to make the world, but only a select few are chosen to lead. Just ask Shane Hiatt - he's a former Point Man for SEAL Team 3, where he met and served together with our very own Mike Ritland. Since then they've been good friends for over 25 years, with Shane swinging by to visit whenever he's in town. He's a modern nomad, living out of his truck for over 15 years (a self-described 'van-lifer' before it was cool) and he owns SH9, an elite knife company that ships products all over the world. He's even been on the podcast before, way back on Episode 50 with Clint Emerson. Since then, Shane's been traveling, crafting knives and spinning yarns all over the country. But there's a lot more to his past that wasn't revealed last time he was on Mike Drop - that's why he's sitting down with Mike again to share a collective look back at where they've come from early in their careers, and the men they'd eventually grow to become. ---------- Chapters: 00:00 - Intro 03:53 - This Is All A Huge Mistake 10:46 - I Live In My Truck 16:07 - Growing Up in the Rio Grande Valley 21:22 - Problems with Grandpa-Dad 34:52 - DON'T Become a Navy SEAL 43:44 - BUD/S and Two Deployments 54:57 - Testing Mettle on the Somalia Coast 01:02:15 - A Navy SEAL in College 01:11:42 - Now I Owed the Navy Three Years 01:17:23 - How Shane Hiatt Met Mike Ritland 01:29:00 - A Bad Hat in Fort Chaffee ---------- Support Shane Hiatt - Get One of Shane's Knives At: https://www.sh9.com YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SH-sl5qm Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sh9outdoorshop ---------- Sponsors: American Financing American Financing’s salary-based mortgage consultants will help you consolidate uour debt into one payment.
