I'd say it's a pretty good time to be a sports fan in Kansas City.

What a Monday night as the Royals tie the Yankees in the division series one game

apiece and the Chiefs take care of the New Orleans Saints in relatively easy

fashion. There was only a slight moment during the game where there might have been

some doubt after Patrick Mahomes threw an interception that Juju Smith-Schuster could not hang

on to. And the Saints would eventually pull within three points and thought, okay, we got a football

game here, but the Chiefs were dominant all night

long in many facets of this game. Not perfect. We'll get to the Chiefs in a moment. But the

Royals are the story of the night because their season was pretty much on the line. If they

don't win game two in New York, it would be pretty hard to see a way to win the final

three games in sweeping fashion.

And the Royals, quite frankly, were the better team on Monday night against the Yankees.

I did not get what I was looking for out of Cole Reagan's.

I need him to pitch deeper into the game.

Four innings pitch from your starter is not acceptable.

He needs to go at least six if he pitches on Saturday in game five.

His pitch count got too high.

He walked four batters.

He would fairly consistently get ahead of Yankee hitters and then start nibbling off the strike
