0:22.7	good news, bad news. And I was a little bit worried about this when I heard that he had his
0:26.6	surgery as quickly as he did, because that's a little bit outside the norm. Generally speaking,
0:32.6	even if it's two or three days, athletes like to take their time, plan it out, get their
0:36.8	family in order.

0:41.2	And what we have now learned is the reason Patrick Mahomes went in and had his ACL repaired on
0:45.9	Monday night in such quick fashion with Dr. Dan Cooper in Dallas is they also repaired the
0:51.2	LCL.
0:52.6	That's exactly right.
0:53.8	So what the chiefs told us initially either was
0:56.6	misinformed and wrong or they lied to us and deceived us or whatever, which I never really
1:01.5	understand because you're always going to find out exactly what happened because the patient
1:05.8	always tells somebody and it gets out. So this injury was worse than thought.
1:13.3	And the second opinion that Andy Reid said on Monday, he was going to get in Dallas,
1:16.9	they quickly, if there was no diagnosis in Kansas City with the team doctors of an LCL tear,
1:24.3	then the second opinion with Dr. Cooper in Dallas was, okay, you did this. And the LCL is also
1:31.0	busted up. So it's double. It's the ACL and the LCL. When that happens, you go in right away.
1:37.8	There's really no choice. The LCL has to be repaired almost immediately upon diagnosis.
