We've got a big update on the stadium issue, the possibility of the chiefs and the Royals moving from Missouri to Kansas.

It's an audio clip that I'll play for you in just a second.

This is going to be one of the shorter podcasts we've ever done, but I think this is very important for everyone to hear. We'll post it on social media,

so people will hear this sound bite. This is from the Kansas House Committee of Approachians

meeting a week ago, an hour and seven minutes into this meeting, a representative

named Stephen Howe from Salina gets the microphone and says,

I'd like to propose the money going from the Kansas Sports Fund to lure professional sports

franchises to the state of Kansas and move it to special education. Well, nothing to see there or hear

there, although I'll play it for you because Stephen Howe is the chairman of the education board and he's trying to get any money he can for education. It's what he does.

It is seconded by Joella Hoy from Lenoxa, who worked in the Johnson County Manager's Office.

She's an anti-gun Democrat. She's the vice chair of the Lenoxa planning committee as they're trying to

tear a Lonexa part and change it into a homeless shelter for everyone. And she says she's a stay-at-home

mom. She seconds the motion to take the money away from the possibility of luring sports teams

and giving it to special education. It gets shot down in a hurry by Representative Sean Tarwater, who would have

the majority on his side anyway. From Stillwell, which I find to be interesting, listen to this

audio clip. It's very short, and what Tarwater says would happen if they considered this motion.

Thank you, Mr. Chair. I would like to make a motion to take money from

the attracting professional sports team to Kansas Fund and direct it to special education

for fiscal year 26 and fiscal year 27.
