Thanks for joining me. It's time to gear up for your cleaning session. In this episode, we are going to work

in the kitchen, but there are a few things that you may want to do before you begin. For example,

you may want to get your house smelling fresh. This could involve lighting a candle, starting a wax warmer.

You'll especially want to take out the trash so that you'll have a place to put any trash

while cleaning. And then if you're like me, you may want to straighten up your front entrance area,

whether you have a dedicated entryway or your house is one where you just walk

right into the living room. We have some tile in our living room known as the entryway,

and so straightening up our immediate entrance usually means picking up any stray items from the living room floor, which you always want to

pick up the floor first, and then removing anything that's out of place on a surface, a higher

surface like the couch, the end table, the coffee table. I have a piano in my entryway.

You may have some other piece of furniture.

Just clearing off things that don't belong, straightening your couch cushions and throw pillows.

But I like to go a step further and straighten up anything that can be seen from the front door. So when I head to my kitchen, I will typically start clearing off the island

because that can be seen from my front door.

There may be a different part of your house that you can see from the front door.

But I like to just create a good first impression area for people who are coming home,

whether it's the kids getting home from school, husband getting home from work,
