Hello. My name is Matt Mullins. We are two ministers and two friends who love telling the stories of the Bible. And today, Todd, roosters come home to nest. Is that what it is? I think that that's very specific. That's actually, this is a story about roosters. The crow? Uh-huh. Yeah. Boy, here we are Solomon's son and things just go awry. That's exactly right.

in some ways, in many ways, it plays into this story as well.

And Matt, this is a story of the rise of King Rehoboam and really also King Jeroboam.

We're going to kind of hone in a little bit more with Rehoboam here.

But before this guy is named King, Rayboeum, we must see the backstory of what's happening in this wildly toxic situation.

And we know that sadly Solomon turned away from God's will for his life.

And this created rivalry.

This created distrust.

And now all of a sudden, all these people want a piece of the pie, meaning they want a piece of the kingdom.

This is all found, by the way, like we would encourage you to actually jump right into the

Bible, jump into the text, and read it. And so this is found in First Kings. And it's really

chapter is 11 through 14, give or take. But hey, check it all out. Read it all. And

get to know the scripture for sure.

So there's a moment in history when everything changes quietly at first, not with armies,

not with trumpets, but with a torn cloak in an empty field.

Today's story is about power, pride, and a kingdom that fractures because no one wants to listen.
