From New York City, Roberta Glass is now on the record. Last week in Baltimore, Maryland, in a stunning reversal, Adnan Syed's conviction for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Heyman Lee, was reinstated.

Syed was released last September after the convict-friendly state's attorney,

Marilyn Mosby, vacated Syed's conviction, citing a Brady violation, presenting new evidence of Syed's innocence.

Attorney General Brian Frosh released a statement denying that such a Brady violation had taken place. But more importantly, Hayman Lee's family led by her brother Younglee filed an appeal arguing that their victim's rights,

that the Maryland's victim's right statute was vacated.

And when Younglee was given just a few days notice of the hearing,

It's good to be here.

So where were you when you heard this news and what did you think?

Well, I was actually busy doing my day and a friend of mine sent me a message to look at the news.

And that's how I found out about it.

I was overjoyed, of course.

So what we hoped for, I didn't really totally believe it would happen, but it did.

Yeah, it was, you know, I really encouraged my audience to go back and listen to my interview with Steve Kelly,

the Lee's family attorney who gave me an interview right after this,

at non-science conviction was vacated.

And they had asked to just stay this, to just wait seven days so they could really go over the filings and get their bearings.

And they wouldn't even delay this.
