The Lakers unveiled Kobe Bryant’s statue and in honor of that we’re throwing it back to one of our best episodes ever — with Bean, himself. Kobe looks back on being the first guard to jump to the NBA out of high school, what it was like playing as a teenager in the league, and his first All-Star Game — matching up against MJ. He also discusses why he switched from wearing number 8 to number 24 and what it was like on the Lakers after Shaq left. There was no one like Kobe Bryant, and we will never forget the energy and love he showed us during this episode. We miss you, Bean. RIP.

  1. Draft night, Hornets trading him to the Lakers (5:01)
  2. Deciding to go straight from high school to the NBA (8:03)
  3. Dropping 61 in MSG against the Knicks (33:23)
  4. His daughter Gianna’s love for basketball (37:26)

This week's knucklehead's Classic episode aired on September 17th, 2019.

And it's not only one of our most popular episodes of all time, but one that is real near and dear to our hearts man we got to sit down with

the late great Kobe mampa this was a few months before his passing and man he

dropped some gems on us that we can never forget we got to talk to him about his mentality in the league,

his legacy, and how he was growing outside of the game and all of the things that he was doing

in his retirement. Black, what do you remember when we got to sit down with him?

We got to go out there all the way to Newport to his compound and he welcomed us in.

Like what do you remember about that whole visit and sitting down with him?

Man, I felt it was dope, man.

We got some breathless early that morning, man,

and pulled up on him, man, had a great conversation.

Remember how excited and how gicky was crazy.

On the way back of getting the interview, man.

And that interview just showed man how much he

respecting what we were doing as this to have this platform as knuckleheads for Kobe to tell

us we're doing something good and wanted to be on our platform.

Showed us what we was doing was the right thing.

And we was putting these stories out for everybody.

So for them to represent us and man,

and try to show us love as being competitors

and all that stuff.

I thought it was dope.
