Summary

Today we're talking about a new documentary called The Medicine, which chronicles the entire journey of a true Amazonian ayahuasca retreat, with a level of detail I've yet to see anywhere else. The film follows former NFL safety, Kerry Rhodes, and actress, AnnaLyne McCord, as they both seek out shamanic healing for their own reasons. Having spent many years in the NFL, Kerry's concerns over CTE and lasting brain damage lead him to seek out the special brew, while AnnaLyne looks to heal from sexual trauma she experienced in her past. 0:05.3	we dive fully into this show today to say that this is an interview that I actually recorded
0:11.1	back at the beginning of March if you can believe it.
0:15.5	And it wasn't my intention to hang on to it for so long at first, but as current events
0:20.8	started to swallow up all the air in the proverbial podcasting room, it just got pushed further
0:27.0	and further back.
0:28.3	But that said, I also realized just how far ahead of the film's release, we actually recorded

0:34.7	I think Farz and mentions a June date and even that didn't happen, it got pushed back
0:40.4	another month and it looks like the film actually released yesterday, July 7th.
0:46.3	And I've been keeping an eye on it.
0:48.2	So when I saw that it did actually launch, I decided that that would be the best time
0:52.3	to put this out as well.
0:54.4	We want to promote this film, clearly that's why I'm talking to today's awesome guests,
0:59.6	an hour with each one separately actually, which is a unique change of pace for us or a half
1:05.1	hour with each one if you're only hearing the free first hour version of the show.
1:10.2	But for a semi mystical spiritual topic like this, it's also so fitting that a conversation
1:17.3	about a film called the medicine recorded in early March actually kind of becomes medicine
1:24.5	in a certain way.
1:26.0	As I for one would cherish the opportunity to drop into a conversation that hasn't
1:31.0	been tainted by the bulk of 2020, I think I would really enjoy that.
