We are back with another guest episode.

You guys know I've been binging guest episodes on my show recently.

I've just loved to talk to other people, hear their stories, and get their input because I know

my voice sometimes can be a little bit repetitive. So I'm excited to pick someone else's brain today.

And I'm so excited. I got Coach Karen here today. We're going to talk all about her new book.

We're going to talk about burnout, ambition, finding your purpose, perfectionism, all that stuff. I get so many DMs from my people talking about the hustle culture that we're in and the burnout that they feel. And I'm so excited to pick your brain today. So Karen, do you want to do a little introduction, who you are, where you're from, and what you do? Thank you. It it's a great pleasure i cannot imagine anyone tiring

of your voice like sometimes i just talk too much not at all and as someone who has uh binged several

of your episodes i can tell you that you change and keep it fresh the subjects are so fresh

that it always uh gives people an additional perspective.

And I also want to say in the world of self-growth, sometimes we do have to hear the same thing

in a different way several times until it lands. And it's my hope that this episode does just that.

So I'm Coach Karen. I insist on people calling me that. And I've been an executive coach and personal coach for eight years now. This is my second career. And it is a career that I don't mind telling you blew up right out the gate. I just found tremendous success in this field.

I now coach some of the superstars at some of the biggest companies in the world,

like Nike and Estee Lauder and J.P. Morgan and founders and Olympic athletes.

And it's really, really wonderful.

However, it wasn't always this hunky dory.

And gilded is the story of how I broke out of my former life and my former career, which was, in effect, a gilded cage.

The gilded cage is the reigning metaphor in my new book.

I mean, you've seen the cover, right?
