final days and pro football is on the way and college football is too. And it's given me an idea

or reignited an idea that started for me about 10 years ago. By the way, I should mention

Sarah Tiana once again out making her great pages for the

Olympics. I hope you're watching her and I trust you are on Peacock. She's doing all the great

stuff with Kenan Thompson and Kevin Hart and all the rest of it. But I wanted to talk today

about try to marry the two up. I like watching TV. I like watching sports on TV. Therefore,

I've been watching a lot of the

Olympics on my TV the last few days, and I'm anxious to watch football come autumn time. I'm tuning

out as usual the Civil War reenactments of August as they really start to kick off here. I'm not going

to be seduced by any evidence I see there because it's no evidence

at all. It's just a big show. It just looks like it's a real thing. Don't put too much stock in

anything you see there. Now, as I watched the Olympics, just like I did 10 years ago, I was watching

the World Cup and my old pals, Black Tie and Zach were big soccer guys. And I said, I just, you know, fundamentally

don't understand the spatial elements of soccer. Like I think we've talked about this many

times before in this space, but I'll just repeat myself to me, to my eye. It looks when I'm watching soccer like they should shoot the ball more.

They should kick the ball at the goal more.

It seems like it goes in.

Those weird benders from however far out that wind up in the top corner of the goal.

It seems like that that's a better chance to go in than when they kick it off to the side
