attend, not only to meet the fans, but one of the reasons I was there is I wanted to grab a

couple of episodes for the podcast. And so I did a couple of live interviews. These will be our first

audience. And one of those people was an actor by the name of Kenneth Mitchell. And I've known

Kenneth for a while. He's a friend. We worked on Star Trek Discovery together. But it's something that

happened in Ken's personal life and how he chose to deal with that that made me want to talk to him

about the creativity of, again, survival. This is going to be a recurring theme this season, I think.

What happened is in 2017, Ken was diagnosed with ALS, which, as you can imagine,

is a devastating piece of news, especially for someone who's married with two kids. But what Ken

decided very shortly after this diagnosis is that he wasn't going to feel sorry for himself.

And his way of doing that was to stay productive. He was, he wanted to keep working. And when

Ken's friends and colleagues found out about a situation and how he wanted to deal with it,

they made sure the work would be there. And as the disease progressed, those roles were tailored
