So the anger over the data centers is growing.

The government is showing no signs of stopping.

We're all going to get big time screwed.

And there is a fascinating new piece out in the Indy Star from front of the show,

Jacob Stewart, detailing going through the process of how the data center is

being approved in Franklin Township, which is the Google Data Center.

Yeah.

And the problem with government, period.

So on August 20th, the Metropolitan Development Commission, they voted to rezone 467 acres of farmland in Franklin

Township for that data center. Eight of the nine unelected commission members, they voted in

favor of it. You only had one person dissent. However, there were more than 100 residents who

attended this meeting and they had a really large petition of people

opposing the project. Forty-five hundred people. All right. So let me explain how this works.

And the problem with Indianapolis is a little different in terms of how it, the structure of the

government works. So this may be a little bit of minutia here, but it's important to the conversation. So the, like in Brownsburg where I live,

the planning commission can make a recommendation. The council can accept it or reject it,

right? Ultimately, the buck stops with them. In Indianapolis, when this group, the Metropolitan Development

Commission, makes a recommendation, it then takes 60% of the city council, it's not 50%

plus one. It's 60% of a 25-person city council to override their recommendation. So they have a lot more power

in Indianapolis than a lot of municipal planning commissions might have. So right now I think there's

been like, I can't remember how many. There have been a whole bunch on both sides of the

Republican and Democrat, city county counselors who have come out against this proposal,
