I continue talking about the American Revolution.

I'm working on a book about the American Revolution, and I'm right now writing about that part that happens at the end of

1776 the year. I mentioned about the Battle of Long Island, this horrible route that happens

on August 27, 1776. But genuinely, miraculously, Washington's army is able to retreat across the East River.

It makes no sense.

It makes no sense that General Howe didn't order them to be crushed when they had the opportunity.

Or I shouldn't say it makes no sense.

It makes very little sense.

He has his excuses.

But what makes no sense. It makes very little sense. He has his excuses. But what makes no sense is that General Howe does not order the ships to come up the East River to trap Washington's army on the Brooklyn side.
