today. I'm glad to have the dream team back two weeks in a row. It's fantastic. Yeah, today's been, we've had a bit of a

temperature drop, but we're going to, we're going to, we'll be with you until the sun comes up again.

Coming up tonight, we're going to discuss the new employment rights bill and also the waves of

sectarian violence in Syria that have killed over a thousand people over the past weeks.

On to our first story.

Kis Stama has announced he will be scrapping NHS England,

the semi-independent body that oversees healthcare services in England.

The move comes as part of what Health Secretary West Streeting describes as bringing the

NHS, quote, back into democratic control. NHS England was created in 2013 by then

Conservative Health Secretary Andrew Lansley under the guise of giving the NHS greater independence.

It operates as a quango, a quasi-autonomous NGO, meaning it is funded by the taxpayer,

but is not controlled by central government. It works with the government to agree priorities,

including how NHS money is spent, and then is responsible for implementing them,

meaning it reports to the government but has operational independence.

However, following Stama's announcement, the functions carried out by NHS England will now be

fully reabsorbed into the Department of Health and Social Care. Both Stammer and Streeting

claim the move will cut back on red tape and save money. Westreating says this.
