Rumor has it that on Thursday, December 9th, 1965,

two little boys were playing in a field

when they were startled by a noise coming from the sky.

They were cold from the December air, and they turned their rosy cheek to the sky. They were cold from the December air and they turned their rosy-cheeked

faces upwards and saw an object moving through the sky. This thing passed overhead a few hundred feet above them,

what they described as a gray or brown smooth rounded shape.

To these boys and to others, it looked like a giant acorn. Flames trailed behind it, orange, yellow, and green

flames. Their eyes followed it as it moved through the sky, passing them then continuing on until it disappeared out of their line of sight.

That happened in Norville, Pennsylvania.

The object was seen at varying points along its journey,

passing through the northern hemisphere, through Canada, into North America, into Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, before it found its final resting place in Western Pennsylvania.

It crashed in the woods in an area known as Hexburg,

about 30 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.

For over 50 years, people have attempted to identify this mysterious object

that was hauled away by the military within a few hours after it landed.

The government said it was a meteor. Others claimed it was a spy satellite.

There are also legends of a time-traveling device that found its way to rural Pennsylvania

all the way from Germany, but some witnesses believe what landed in

the woods in Kexburg was an alien spaceship.
