Without further ado, I would like to introduce our special guest today. Katie Rodan has come to us all the way from the East Bay.

And she is a remarkable person and quite an unusual speaker for this series.

And I think you'll see at the end why we feel very lucky that she's going to come to join us.

She is the co-founder of proactive solution. And I'm not

going to ask you how many people have used this product, but I certainly know that there

are, it says 3 million, I understand that that's old data, that 10 million people have

used this product and have obviously found it to be very, very helpful to them. So we're

going to hear about the history of this, the development of this company, which I know is very, very interesting.

And for someone who started out as physician, who decided to start this company, this is a very interesting career path.

In addition, just to give you a little bit of academic background, Katie started out her school at UVA.

She then went to medical school at USC and ended up at Stanford for her residency.

I have to figure out where to stand with this big thing right here.

Well, it's great to be here. I have to tell you when I started at Stanford in 1984, I never dreamed, and I was there as a resident.

I never dreamed that I would be coming back here 22 years to talk to a group of budding entrepreneurs

about a business that I helped design.

So it's great to be here.

And I thought what I'd share with you is a little bit about my story.
