Summary

Kathy Griffin needs no introduction. This fiery redhead has been making people laugh and causing a ruckus with her unapologetic tea-spilling celebrity anecdotes since the 90s. A self-proclaimed stand-up addict, she joins us in the studio for the first time ever — on her 65th birthday — to talk about her weekly YouTube show, Talk Your Head Off, and her new comedy special, also on YouTube, My Life On the PTSD List. The title is of course a play on her groundbreaking, Emmy-winning reality show My Life On the D List, which was one of the genre and era-defining Bravo shows in the 2000s, and now it’s also on, you guessed it, YouTube. All for free.

We talk about all this, plus her new face (it’s her third), getting thrown out of Paris Hilton’s party, Kris Jenner, body dysmorphia, how she manages to maintain relationships when she’s always being so delightfully, hilariously, and publicly indiscreet. This woman has more comedy specials than any other comedian, man or woman! Plus we discuss Joan Rivers, falling out with Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen, talking crap about Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen, dating Quentin Tarantino and Steve Wozniak (not at the same time).

We also dig into what was the most seismic moment of her life: when photographer Tyler Shields snapped a shot of her holding up a rubber mask of Trump covered in ketchup. It sparked a chain of overreactions from the President that saw her put on the no-fly list and investigated like a terrorist. So much for free speech! It tanked her career for seven years, and led to a series of really dark periods with drugs and suicidal ideation that also coincided with her losing her mom, the pandemic, getting lung cancer even though she never smoked! Woof. This convo is a wild ride and Zach and Dan definitely get a roasting too.
