Welcome back to the Be There and Five podcast.

I'm Kate Kennedy, your host.

What a week this has been.

But I'm not even going to start there because more importantly, I do have a

guest this week. And this is an interesting episode to be putting out this week because this

episode was recorded 21 days before the election in a very different world. Not because of Sharon,

I guess she's outstanding, but because of, like, I would have asked questions differently.

My nervous energy is so hopeful, and it's just not the tone I'm feeling right now.

So it's like, it's just, it's interesting how a lot of this is relevant to like when I'm in

like a healthier mindset. And some of it, I'm like, but what I'm not, I kind of did, like,

I kind of disagree with some of the stuff I'm saying here, what I'm not, I kind of did, like, I kind of disagree

with some of the stuff I'm saying here. Even though it represents like the person I want to be, I don't want to invalidate people that don't feel that way because I don't feel that way right now. But anyways, I guess I'll explain a little further. But regardless, yeah, this is the episode we have this week, so I'm putting it out that it is what it is to quote, in this time of American despair, French, Canadian, Celine Dion.

For me to misquote Celine, you know that my brain is misfiring on all cylinders.

I can't be trusted with a microphone in trying times. I do want to start by

saying if I sound a little off. I just coughed. That seemed performative. Like, I'm sick.

You know, part of it is the symptom of an existential crisis, sure, sure. I have a sick baby. I'm a little under the weather. I'm recording this at obscure hours because he is a cling master. I hear his little pause, pitter pattern. I did move the gate farther outside my door. I just love him and I want to squeeze them and spend time with them. But working from home is

interesting. I don't need to get into that right now, but when the babe's around. But yeah,

a little low energy, but I really wanted to talk. And I apologize if I'm a little off for a myriad of

reasons. But thank you for being here. I genuinely appreciate the company and keeping you guys company in these times
