Hello, welcome to opening arguments. This is Thomas. I'm doing this little intro right here because we had

some bizarre technical stuff happen that delayed our start a little bit. And I wanted to make sure in the

moment that we got right to it to maximize the time we had with our guest, who is just incredible.

And so I figured I'd save the intro stuff for when I have all the time in the world.

I could take an hour right now.

I could introduce this as long as I want.

And I probably still wouldn't get to half of it because in a moment we'll be on with

Kat Abugazale, who is somehow only 26 and has done a million things.

She's already had like a very successful media career in that short time and has

decided to now run for the House of Representatives out of Illinois's ninth district. But Kat is amazing.

She's doing really cool things with her campaign. She was with Media Matters for America covering

Fox News and Tucker Carlson until she lost that job due to,

we'll just say Elon Musk. Maybe we'll be able to talk more about that with her. Then she went

solo, acquiring a huge following on TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, later Blue Sky. She's covered the Tucker

Carlson of it all, that kind of branch of the right extremely well. And I think it's really

given her good insight into what a lot of people of branch of the right extremely well. And I think it's really given her

good insight into what a lot of people are missing about the right and the far right. But talking

about her campaign, it's a real grassroots campaign. And she's also doing really cool stuff

with mutual aid groups and local businesses. For example, she had at her campaign launch event,

she asked for period product donations rather than an entrance fee, which were then donated to a Chicago nonprofit for distribution among low-income communities.

She's doing all kinds of stuff like that.

And maybe most significantly lately, she's been on the ground in Chicago where you might have heard that ICE has been.
