We had a fiery morning here in the Senate on our Judiciary Committee.

I'm on a bunch of other committees.

Well, let's start off with the fiery morning.

So obviously, the FBI director, Cash Patel testified in front of the committee today.

And there were, let's say, some fireworks.

In your words, what happened this morning?

Did we learn anything?

Would love to just hear your general thorough thoughts before we dive into some specific questions.

So a whole series of senators, myself included, pressed FBI director Cash Patel on his promises in his confirmation hearing that he wouldn't politicize the FBI, that he wouldn't carry out revenge against his enemy's list, that he would prioritize and focus on fighting crime and protecting our national

security rather than settling scores, when in fact, he has over the last six to nine months

cleaned house, forced out a whole series of senior former FBI agents.
