My entitled friend refuses to pay me back for any of the stuff that her dog ruined at my house.

Because after she left her dog unattended for nearly 10 days, locked up in our guest bedroom,

that dog literally went to the bathroom everywhere, forcing me to replace my couch, my mattress,

and even my carpets. But despite the mounting cost of everything I have to replace,

my friend refuses to take responsibility for the utter damage that she caused.

And at this point, I seriously don't know what to do.

Here's what happened.

Okay, to start things out, my childhood best friend and I live in different countries.

And we have a small tradition where she travels to spend Christmas with me every year.

I help with money for plane tickets and she stays at my house where I also provide food.

Last Christmas she came, but this time she brought her dog as she got a puppy in January of 24.

I then asked her if it was already trained and she told me that it was. I also let her know that I

don't like pets on my beds or couch and asked if I needed to buy something for her dog to sleep in.

Well, she told me the dog will be okay with a pillow beside her bed. I also bought some cleaning supplies and I left it in the guest bedroom that she could use if she needed it. Unfortunately, when she arrived, I noticed that the dog was absolutely untrained. Now, I was trying not to be a jerk about it, and I was just trying to enjoy our time together, but I told her that she needed to take her dog out often because she wasn't doing it. Like, for example, the day she arrived, she said she was too tired and the dog didn't need it. Then, on the second day, it was too cold to walk outside. And on the third day, we have plans. So she left the dog locked in the room all day. She was here for 10 days, and the dog was taken outside for walks maybe five times. And one of those times was by me and the other was by my husband. The dog slept on the bed, the couch, and left hairs everywhere, jumping on people all the time, and it was biting. But I started to notice a strong smell coming from the guest bedroom. Well, to make a long story short, the carpet, a couch,

and bed mattresses are absolutely ruined by the smell of urine. And it is disgusting. I tried

different cleaning methods, but it smells really bad. I then talked to my husband and we
