You may have heard of the term down regulation, or you know about the differences between

the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems.

This is a super important conversation because most of us are spending our days in an up-regulated

state and it's hurting our performance.

The down-regulated state, the parasympathetic system, that we seek outside of our workouts

is in charge of rest, digest, and breed.

It's necessary to recover fully.

The up-regulated, the sympathetic nervous system, when stimulated, causes you to enter

the state of fight, flight, and freeze.

It is stimulated in the presence of stress.

You'll recognize fight when you're in the heat of the moment at the gym, flight when

you're avoiding that person at work, and freeze when you realize that you haven't been breathing
