If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. At least that's what I've heard. Do crime still get punished in these United States?

You know, crime has always been an interesting political topic.

You know, you've got people that are claiming, well, this group is soft on crime.

These are hard on crime.

And of course, there's different philosophies from the political standpoint.

But I'm looking at it from a constitutional and therefore a justice standpoint.

And, well, I find this interesting.

When I talk about crime and punishment, I think way too often we make it so abstract,

we don't think about what's really going on.

I also remember something a friend of mine once used to say regularly, and that was assume when

they tell you good news, cut it in half, when they tell you bad news, double it.

It's kind of like, it's a way of tempering our reaction thing.

That's kind of what I thought of when I saw this report from the FBI that according to their preliminary report, right,

this is just a preliminary.

It means these numbers will change.
