Summary

What was supposed to be a fun-filled weekend with his son, turned tragedic as a New York father is killed at his hotel. Paul Kutz, 53, died after a man opens fire in the hotel lobby, firing as many as thirty shots. 

Two men with reported gang ties were arrested for the shooting, Roy Johnson Jr. and Devin Taylor.  Johnson was the shooter and was ultimatelly sentenced  with the maximum life sentence,  58-years-to-life in state prison.

The Duchess County District Attorney recommended that, quote, do to the egregious facts of

this case, as well as the immeasurable loss and trauma inflicted on the victims, the

office of the district attorney recommended the maximum penalty allowable by law.

And the judge sentenced the defendant according to that recommendation.

Johnson was found guilty of murder, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
