This story of Tina Fontaine's life belongs to her and her family, but it parallels many others in the indigenous communities.

Her struggle for stability, the promises not kept, and the sexual exploitation she endured meant that

Tina experienced more trauma and pain than most people could even imagine.

Because of situations beyond her control, Tina needed housing, health and educational

services that were not easily accessed.

In the last years of her life, poverty, homelessness, and drug use led her into life-threatening situations on an almost daily basis.

All of this by the time she was 15 years old. Today at the quiet end we're telling

Tina's story. After all, Tina was just a girl. She was a girl with hopes and

dreams just like our daughters. But Tina was left vulnerable to dangerous

predators. Why was no one able or willing to protect and defend her? Let's talk

about it. And what do we have for a beer?

I'm copying out a little bit. The beer is a beer from Quebec, not from the Western provinces.

But I like the name of the beer, La Fin de Mon, the end of the world. I thought it was fitting for this tale and I truthfully haven't been able to get some samples of beers from the Western part of Canada.

So, the Fin Dumond it is.

It's brewed by Unabrew in Chambley, Quebec, Canada.

It's a Belgian triple. A little weighty at 9% alcohol by volume. Very, very nice beer. Cloudy yellow, small

white head. Maybe a hint of lace.

Spice and fruit aroma, taste with citrus fruit, a little more spice, tangy spice, and it's kind of warming

as you drank it.
