Ira Madison, who usually is on this podcast and has only three episodes left, is still

on Fire Island. I was just there myself. There is no reason for anybody to spend that much time

there. So I don't know if he's in financial trouble or simply can't get off the island. I have no

idea, but he is there. And today we have a guest host who is not just a very talented writer

and fabulous person. I have known this bastard for

fucking ever. This is basically my first friend in L.A., Kyle Buchanan, who is the awards columnist

regarding movies for the New York Times and also just a general movies festival gentleman,

and also one of the most knowledgeable movie people I think I'll ever meet in this lifetime.

So welcome back to keep it.

Well, to be granted that compliment by you, Lewis, means a lot.

But I was thinking about this the other day too.

I'm like, I think I'm an essential part of some Lewis lore here because was I the first or one of the first people to tell you that you should go by vertel and not vertal?

Well, I, that's an interesting question because I moved here in 2009 and I feel like I was headed

that way anyway because everybody guessed it was pronounced vertel. It just felt correct. Yeah.

Like the sharpness of vertel as opposed to vertal. Like, you know, like you're, you're the,

you have that sharp wit to you.
