wrapping up our look at Jurassic Park with a musical film commentary. This episode will be the first half of the movie.

I'll play a little audio from the beginning and you can watch or listen along.

This is really interesting way for Jurassic Park to begin.

It starts with just the sound of the jungle

rather than the universal logo over this

Universal Studios globe here. For those you that know that theme it's like

people think I'm crazy when I talk about how influential Star Wars is, but those are all perfect

melodies here, you know.

And that pillar, those pillars of strength, just I don't think play well against what they're kind of going for here in terms of mystery, because by using the jungle sounds, we kind of know we're in for something special, something unique, and then of course we have this wonderful opening.

By the way, this flute line, check it out, it's the Predators theme.

Nana, nah, nah, the first two notes are kind of bent.

So the film kind of starts out with the predator's theme and ends with the predator's theme

at the end credits.

It's bookended by that theme. This is great here of the first shot we get of Jurassic Park is of these branches

and a very worried construction worker's face as it cuts back and forth

and what's really interesting is they're all wearing

Jurassic Park helmets which it's neat that they're using the logo in the movie

and it's also the logo for the movie that's a wonderful parallel sort of self-aware parallel in terms of the this tense music with the synthesizer and this is we had heard a
