Hello and welcome to this abbreviated edition of reliable sources. I'm Brian

Stelter and it's Sunday, June 27th. Our program on television was shortened

because of a press conference out of Surfside, Florida. We were showing local

officials providing an update on the horrifying building collapse in Surfside.

We did have several segments of reliable sources on TV, however. So in this

shortened podcast episode, you are going to hear from several great guests.

First up is Adam Cerwer, whose new book The Cruelty is the point about Trump's

America is coming out on Tuesday. Plus, I speak with Rick Hutzl, who recently

retired from the Capitol Gazette newspaper. It's around the three-year

anniversary of the mass shooting there. Hutzl is not retiring from journalism. He

is looking for a new job and he has a lot to say about the state of local news.

So you're going to hear from Adam and Rick coming up. We're going to

basically present to you the beginning of the episode and the end of the

television episode because the press conference was in the middle. But first,

here's my opening commentary about the current state of America, the divided

states of America, and how you can see it happening on television, on channels

like Fox and One America News. Let's begin this hour of reliable sources with

two newsmakers who can tell us a lot about the divided states of America. The

major networks did not carry Donald Trump's Saturday Night Rally. Even Fox news

ignored it, but Fox is serving the ex-president's agenda in lots of other

ways. Reporters likened to the rally to a revenge tour and Fox sure knows revenge.
