So when you look into the sky and you see a kid playing with a drone out and about the place,

it might be hard to believe right now that by the time the 2027 Rider Cup takes place,

EVATAL air taxis, as in electrical, vertical takeoff and landing taxis, capable of fully autonomous

flight, will be in our skies and readily available from a base in Shannon in Ireland.

This week, I had to get into this. I spoke to an extraordinary Irish businesswoman and aviation entrepreneur, Julie Garland.

She's a founder and CEO of AvTrain.

I spoke to her at their aptly named office of extraordinary innovation in the Guinness Enterprise Centre.

Now, AvTrain and Julie are at the center of this

new phase in aviation and the use of drones that is literally changing the way we live. From

how we transport ourselves to how we feed, equip, maintain, preserve, build or even just make art in this world. Julie is a one of a kind.

One of the kind Irish businesswoman. I'm delighted to have on the show. She has done it all.

She is a former barrister, a fellow at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, an airline training captain,

aircraft maintenance engineer,

and prior to undertaking your position as CEO of AvTrain,

she was the CEO of Thunder Tiger Aviation

and the former Director of Compliance for Norwegian Air International.

Now, as the founding chair of the Unmanned Aircraft Association of Ireland and our Irish representative on the European Dron Association, this woman has clearly devoted her life to aviation and drones.

So there's no better person to talk to. She is the person, if you want to be a drone

pilot, the chances are you'll have to go through Julie and AvTrain to do it. I loved this conversation

for so many reasons, not least because I just love the concept of drones and what they're
