I'm Helen Needham.

Josie Valily, also known as Quiney, is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Glasgow.

She's also a horsewoman and spends all her free time with her horse, Maisie.

Weekends and holidays consist of journeying together in a very slow and considered way,

with a deep connection to place.

Most of the time, Josie is walking alongside Maisie and following her lead.

After seeing a film about them, I was really keen to meet them to learn more about their special relationship

and what this pace of movement in the outdoors can bring to both horse and human.

It almost harks back to a different time.
