Two zones of huge power, not least military force, shattered by darkness and danger.

Where does your eye land, Joshua Cohen, tracking the interactions yet to come?

Somewhere between the two, probably in the depths of the Atlantic.

That's where my eye lands these days.

In the water or deep submerged? Deep submerged. Deep submerged. The trenches, the deep

Atlantic trenches. Like everyone else, I'm trying to continuously daily find my bearings in a world

of relentless change. A world of relentless awareness of the change that I think has always

occurred, but it's

the awareness that weighs. In your novelists' eye, Joshua, can you imagine these two men

in dialogue, as they will be? Could you write them as a play? Two characters on stage,

both commanding, both shady, shall we say, Trump and Netanyahu. I imagine them each

plausibly seeing himself in the other and not liking it. The bully, the performer, the criminal

defendant, the demagogue, but a sort of matched pair. What do you think? I think that it's very
