Welcome to Searchlight. A survey through scripture with Pastor John Corson. It is our desire to bring you a

systematic study of the entire Bible chapter by chapter book by book.

Over the past couple of searchlight programs, we have been looking at an interesting

contrast between victory and defeat. This story is part of our study. contrasting in their battle against AI. This was because there was sin among the people and they did not seek God before going into battle.

In chapter 8, Israel again engaged in battle against AI, but this time things are different. This time the sin of Israel was dealt with, and Joshua humbled himself before God to seek God's direction.

As we join Pastor John today, we are seeing the results of

Joshua and Israel following God's plan for victory. Then after the victory, we will

see Joshua do something that is very important for us to

understand if we want victory in our lives and in the lives of our children.

Here now is Pastor John.

When Joshua and all Israel saw that the ambush had taken the city

and that the smoke ascended, verse 21,

then they turned again.

So now Joshua realizes, hey look the city's on fire and now they turn around.
